On March 15 and 16, 2017, the partners of the POP CoE -- Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC), High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS), Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), Numerical Algorithms Group Ltd (NAG), Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH), and Ter@tec -- met in Paris at the new INRIA Centre de Recherche for their third project meeting.
The project partners mainly discussed the status of the project after 18 (out of 30) months and the plans for the upcoming months. Overall, the project is in good shape and well on track.
At a project review by the EC in November 2016 in Brussels the independent reviewers were very satisfied with the progress in the project. Reviewer recommendations for the remaining project duration and how to address them were discussed in detail. Another discussion point was an analyis of the first 18 months of POP performance optimisation service requests. The meeting ended with the arrangement of the organisation of two upcoming public dissemination and customer relationship events:
- The POP User Forum @ European HPC Summit Week 2017 (May 19, 2017, Barcelona)
- The BoF "POP Improves HPC Appliactions" at ISC High Performance 2017 (June 2017, Frankfurt)
