EuroHPC User Day+½ (22 & 23 October) 2024, hosted by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and EuroCC Netherlands in Amsterdam, concluded with walk-in networking sessions focusing on specific EuroHPC user needs. One featured HPC Applications Centres of Excellence where POP CoE participated alongside EoCoE, ChEESE, MaX and ESiWACE (with Excellerat, MultiXscale and related projects in a separate room). This session allowed the over 200 attendees to connect with the CoEs, get advice and provide feedback on their services which enable more effective use of EuroHPC computer systems at the largest scales.

The meeting started with introduction of the current fleet of operational EuroHPC supercomputers, which are being joined by others including JUPITER as the first European exa-scale supercomputer in 2025, as well as other EuroHPC projects supporting AI and quantum computing. User opportunities for accessing these systems and associated support and training activities were then presented, along with the invitation to join the newly established User Forum. Additionally short presentations by users of EuroHPC systems were given in three parallel sessions, and peer-reviewed papers will appear in a book of proceedings.
