On April 23 and 24, 2020 the partners of the POP CoE (Second Phase) wanted to meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic for a 2-day project meeting at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center of the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. Because of the Covid-19 crisis, this was of course not possible, so the two day meeting was done virtually as an extended video conference.

Although participating in a two day video conference is exhausting, this setup had the advantage that a much larger number of project members could participate compared to a physical meeting where travel budgets and meeting room sizes restrict the direct participation.

The main topic of the meeting was to assess the status of the POP project after the first 18 months and to prepare for the midterm project review scheduled for the beginning of July. A lot of time was spent on coordinating the creation and writing of the month 18 project deliverables and project reports.
