POP3 Interim Project Review

Thursday, July 10, 2025

The POP3 project had its interim EU project review at EuroHPC in Luxembourg on July 10, 2025

The reviewers noted that the consortium has worked and collaborated very well in a fully coordinated manner and deployed considerable scientific and technical expertise at a high level. They also confirmed that reporting through deliverables and the majority of milestones had been completed on time. The reviewers acknowledged the consortium's active involvement in dissemination activities, recognising the variety of contributions and high visibility in all relevant forums. They also praised the ample training opportunities provided by the consortium, through both organised events and contributions to larger events. The reviewers confirmed that the consortium has improved and demonstrated the applicability of the performance tools used on different machines, architectures and applications. Finally, they agreed that the consortium had designed an appropriate method for assessing user satisfaction based on questionnaires and potential interviews. Overall, the review concluded that POP3 is a highly relevant project whose achievements contribute significantly to the proposed outcomes and impacts.

However, some milestones only have been partially reached or were slightly delayed. Some deviations in resources have been observed. Therefore, the reviewers provided some very helpful recommendations, which the project team will implement during the remainder of the project.
